DfE opens review of PSHE education
The Department for Education has opened a review of
personal, social, health and economic (PSHE) education.
An internal review was promised in the schools White Paper:
The Importance of Teaching. However, this
has been widened and DfE are now seeking the views of the
children's sector more widely.
The consultation recognises the importance of PSHE in the
curriculum and seeks to determine how to support schools to improve
the quality of teaching of PSHE education, including giving
teachers the flexibility to use their judgement about how best to
deliver it.
A consultation document is available at www.education.gov.uk/consultations/index.cfm?action=consultationDetails&consultationId=1759&external=no&menu=1
